Digital Support, Data Protection and Artificial Intelligence at Neuro Praxis Düsseldorf

Modern Medicine with Human Responsibility

Neuro Praxis Düsseldorf uses modern digital technologies to continuously improve the quality of patient care, medical documentation, and practice accessibility. To achieve this, we utilize selected software solutions as well as specially developed, privacy-compliant artificial intelligence (AI) systems.

Our goal is not to automate medical decision-making, but rather to relieve our team of administrative tasks so that more time remains for the personal care of our patients.

Our AI Telephone Assistant MIKA

To improve the telephone accessibility of our practice, we use the AI-powered telephone assistant MIKA.

Please speak to MIKA just as you would speak to a human member of our team. The more accurately you describe your concerns and answer MIKA’s questions, the better our team can prepare for and process your request.

For example, MIKA can:

  • receive messages,
  • document callback requests,
  • provide information about practice procedures,
  • answer organizational questions,
  • identify potential emergency situations and respond accordingly.

MIKA is designed to support our team as effectively as possible. However, it is a technical system based on artificial intelligence. Like any human being and any other software, MIKA can make mistakes, misunderstand information, or misinterpret situations.

For this reason, MIKA does not replace the medical judgment of our staff or professional medical advice. Medical decisions are made and supervised exclusively by qualified healthcare professionals.

If you believe that your request has not been recorded correctly by MIKA, you may also contact us through our Online Reception at any time. In most cases, this is the most reliable and privacy-friendly way to communicate with our practice.

Documentation Support through Heidi Health

To allow more time for personal interaction with our patients while ensuring comprehensive medical documentation, we may use the documentation support tool Heidi Health.

Heidi Health can analyze conversation content and generate draft medical documentation. This allows our staff to focus more on the consultation itself and spend less time on administrative documentation tasks afterward.

The following points are important to us:

  • Heidi Health supports documentation only.
  • Heidi Health does not make diagnoses.
  • Heidi Health does not provide treatment recommendations.
  • Heidi Health does not make medical decisions.
  • Responsibility for all medical documentation remains entirely with our staff.

All documentation drafts generated by Heidi Health are reviewed and, where necessary, corrected before being incorporated into the patient record.

Like any software and any AI system, Heidi Health can make mistakes, misunderstand content, capture information incompletely, or summarize statements inaccurately. For this reason, AI-generated content is never incorporated into medical documentation without human review.

We use Heidi Health solely as a supportive tool with the goal of improving documentation quality and creating more time for direct patient care.

No automated medical decision-making takes place through Heidi Health.

Electronic Medical Records and Practice Software medatixx

For practice management and medical documentation, we use the practice software medatixx.

This system processes and stores the information required for your treatment, including:

  • personal and administrative data,
  • appointments,
  • medical reports,
  • examination findings,
  • diagnoses,
  • test results,
  • medication information,
  • documentation from consultations and examinations.

Electronic documentation enables our team to access information relevant to your treatment quickly and securely and helps improve the continuity and quality of medical care.

Access to your data is restricted exclusively to authorized personnel and only within the framework of applicable laws and medical confidentiality obligations.

We implement modern technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Please note that electronic medical records are an essential component of our treatment concept. In our view, secure and structured digital documentation is a key prerequisite for modern, high-quality neurological care.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

AI systems support us particularly in the areas of:

  • practice organization,
  • communication,
  • documentation,
  • structuring medical information,
  • preparation of administrative processes.

We would like to emphasize the following:

Artificial intelligence does not make medical decisions in our practice.

We are convinced that artificial intelligence can meaningfully support medical care. At the same time, we are fully aware of its limitations. Therefore, AI-generated content, documentation, and suggestions are always reviewed by qualified staff before being used in patient care.

Diagnoses, interpretation of findings, treatment recommendations, and all medically relevant decisions are made and supervised exclusively by qualified healthcare professionals.

No automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR takes place in our practice.

Data Protection and Information Security

The protection of your health data is one of our highest priorities.

We ensure that all systems and service providers we use comply with applicable data protection requirements and have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your information.

Personal data is processed exclusively in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and the professional regulations governing physicians.

Important Information Regarding Our Treatment Concept

The digital systems and support tools described above are an integral part of our organizational and medical quality concept.

If you expressly object to the use of these systems as part of your treatment, this may prevent us from maintaining our intended standards of quality in documentation, communication, and practice organization.

In such cases, we will review together with you whether treatment can still be provided under these circumstances. If this is not possible, we reserve the right not to establish or continue a treatment relationship, provided that no legal obligations require otherwise.

If you have any questions regarding data protection or the systems we use, please feel free to contact us at any time.
