Important Information for Patients Under 18 Years of Age
A treatment agreement with a minor patient will only be entered into following the practice's prior express consent
Neuro Praxis Düsseldorf specializes in the neurological diagnosis and treatment of adult patients.
Our diagnostic pathways, examination protocols, and treatment concepts have been specifically developed for adult neurology. Therefore, we generally treat patients aged 18 years and older.
Exceptions for Patients Aged 16 and Above
In selected individual cases, we may consider evaluating adolescents from the age of 16 years.
Whether such an exception is possible is determined solely on a case-by-case basis after careful review of the medical situation.
Please note that we are not a pediatric neurology practice and do not provide neuropediatric care.
Full Standard Diagnostic Work-Up Required
An assessment of patients under 18 years of age can only be considered if our established standard diagnostic program is fully desired and medically feasible.
In particular, for conditions involving the autonomic nervous system (such as POTS, dysautonomia, or small-fiber neuropathy), we do not offer shortened, modified, or age-adapted diagnostic protocols.
No Customized or Partial Diagnostic Programs
We are unable to offer investigations that deviate from our established diagnostic standards.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Individual tests without the accompanying standard diagnostic work-up
- Special diagnostic programs tailored specifically for adolescents
- Partial investigations upon request
- Neuropediatric diagnostic evaluations
Our goal is to provide a medically sound and high-quality diagnosis. This is only possible when our complete and established diagnostic concept is followed.
Recommendation for Younger Patients
For children and younger adolescents, we generally recommend consultation with a specialized pediatric neurology department or a university hospital with expertise in child and adolescent neurology.
